There are homewares you admire from afar, and then there are the ones you fall completely in love with. For us, Village Pottery definitely falls into the second camp.
These little ceramic houses are the kind of pieces that don't just make a room feel finished- they make it feel like home. Whether they're glowing on a windowsill, creating a welcoming display in an entryway, or adding a little warmth to a bookshelf, they're the sort of homewares that make you smile every time you walk past.
It's no wonder that they've become one of our favourite collections here at Martha's. They just oozy cozy.
Each house is handcrafted with its own unique character. So a collection can be as easy as a single house or and entire village! Mix different sizes, colours and rooflines together and before you know it, you've created your own quaint village.
One of the things we love most about Village Pottery houses is that they aren't just seasonal decorations.
Yes, they totally look just magical during the festive season, they're also lovely sitting on a mantlepiece, shelf or sideboard all year round. They add a little personality without feeling over the top and just scream cozy.
Simply pop in a tealight or LED candle and watch the little windows come alive as the sun goes down.
Our fireplace doesn't get much use outside winter, so I've taken to decorating it with my village when it's not being used.
I've lined my Village Pottery houses up on the fireplace like a tiny little street. Instead of using candles, I've tucked copper-wirebattery-operated fairy lights inside each house, giving them a soft glow without having to think about lighting them every evening.
As the sun goes down, I simply switch the fairy lights on and let them do their thing.
It's one of those things that just brings a little cozy to our home. And when the fireplace isn't in use, it becomes a feature rather than an empty space.
Whether you're starting your first little village or adding another house to your collection, they're the kind of homewares that bring warmth, charm and a little everyday magic to your home.
Pop into Martha's to see the latest Village Pottery collection in person, or browse online to find your next little house.
