We think that there is something so wonderful about serving water from a fish-shaped jug that gurgles as you pour. Yep, you read that right, it GURGLES as you pour!
The Gluggle Jug is as much charm as it is function - it brings a sense of playfulness to the table, and at Martha’s we’re so lucky to stock one of the largest Gluggle Jug colour ranges in Australia. With over 25 colours imported from the original makers in the UK, our collection is bound to bring a smile to anyone’s face
There are so many reasons, it’s so hard to pick one. Firstly, its history. I love products with a good backstory. And gluggle jugs don’t disappoint. Did you know that they’ve been around since the 1870’s? Crazy huh!
I bought my first gluggle purely for the look of it. But I was hosting a long summer lunch, and someone asked, “Why is your jug making noises?” It got a huge laugh and a good few questions from those around the table. I was hooked. I mean, who doesn’t want to throw a party and have their water (or wine) jug “glug-glug” as they pour?
If you’ve ever popped into Martha’s and seen our rainbow wall of Gluggle Jugs, I dare you not to smile and fall in love. There is just something about them that exudes happiness!
Each jug has that signature gurgling sound — the clever hollow tail captures air and releases it as water flows, creating the “glug-glug” sound. To hear the gluggle best, keep it around three-quarters full.
If you’ve ever wanted a table piece that just sparks joy and works beautifully, let a Gluggle Jug do the talking (or gurgling)! Pop into the Martha’s shop, browse online, or drop me a note — I’d love to help you pick the perfect shade (or two... or five).
