This Lemon Pepper Relish is a taste of its own. It takes us far beyond the bitter sweet of a marmalade to a world of flavours that challenge and tantalise the palate at the same time - sweet, bitter, sour, umami, salty – all 5 basic tastes. Add black peppercorns hand-ground in mortar and pestle and you have a match made in heaven.

The peppercorns are not evenly ground so that even though there is an even distribution of peppery flavour there are crunchy pieces of peppers and sometimes the odd whole corn to bight on. It is delicious.
