Glace Fruit is also known as ‘candied’ or ‘crystallised’ fruit. These delicious, baby whole pears have been prepared in a dense, heated sugar syrup, which absorbs the moisture from within the fruit and eventually preserves it.
Glace pears can be used whole or chopped up in baking and dessert recipes. Add some to homemade ice cream and gelato, chocolates and confections. Glacé pear is particularly delicious when paired with cinnamon.
Use these scrumptious, baby candied pears to decorate cakes and puddings, or serve them on fruit and cheese platters as an alternative when fresh pears are out of season.
